The earlier, the better. My senior sessions fill fast, especially summer and fall, so most families lock in their date several months ahead. 2. Read through each option and consider which might be a good fit for you then continue to choosing your session date.

3. Secure your date by paying half the session fee and I take it from there! You’ll receive your questionnaire and helpful planning guides sent right to your inbox! 

Your senior portraits should be a representation of YOU. Think about what your favorite pieces of clothing are and put together outfits around those! The key to a well rounded session is variety and accessories. Choose outfits that range from formal to casual that have a various neck lines and lengths. The studio is located at 132 1/2 E Washington St. in the middle of Downtown Iowa City, but most senior sessions happen on location, not inside the studio.

Being downtown is actually a huge plus. It gives us easy access to a wide variety of looks—urban textures, alleys, architecture, nearby green spaces, and great light—without spending the entire session driving from place to place. It also makes planning flexible and efficient, especially for sessions that include multiple outfits or locations.

What if we don’t live near Iowa City?

No problem at all. Many of my seniors come from surrounding areas, and I’m happy to travel for the right location. If your senior has a spot that feels meaningful—whether that’s closer to home, a favorite park, or somewhere that fits their personality—we can absolutely plan around that.

Travel outside the Iowa City area may include a mileage or travel fee, depending on distance, and that’s always discussed during the planning process so there are no surprises.

Wherever we shoot, the goal is the same: choosing locations that feel like you and make the session relaxed, fun, and worth the investment.

You have nothing to worry about, I got you. I’m going to match your outfits with the perfect spot for your style and outfit choice within (or close to) the town we are in. Then I show you exactly how to pose and direct you from behind the camera, even including when to be serious, smile or making you laugh. The photo shoot is super fun and easy going. We meet at the first location and start from there. I even bring a portable changing tent so you don’t have to go in any questionable bathrooms along the way.

Short answer, no...BUT...each session includes a credit towards your order so YOU can choose the items you want to invest in and that make the most sense for your family and needs. Some families want digitals only and some want me to do all the printing for them, both are fine.  Usually families land somewhere in the middle getting a set of digital images and a high end product, like an album or wall art, as well. 

Senior sessions start at $750 and include an Artwork Credit towards your order. At your View and Order Appointment you select what you would like to order from a curated Product Catalog including ePortraits (high res. digital images), Prints, Wall Art and Albums. Don't worry, I help you through the entire order process. Typical investment can range from $900-$2850+.
